A licence that does not get in your way

INDIGO is released under the INDIGO Astronomy open-source license, a BSD style, business friendly licence. You can use the framework in a commercial product, keep your own code closed and ship it however you like, as long as the copyright notice and the disclaimer travel with it.

No GPL code is used anywhere in the framework, and that is a deliberate design requirement rather than an accident. It means INDIGO can be linked into applications that are distributed through the Apple, Microsoft and other application stores, where copyleft licences are a problem, and it means integrating INDIGO puts no licensing obligations on the rest of your product.
